15-09-2008 - Company Donation - In September 2008, Erwin and Johan from sponsor KWH visited Ecuador. Our volunteer Ine took them to Chugchilán, a little village in a remote area of the Andes, where some DCF volunteers had been teaching English.
Erwin and Johan were very impressed with the primary school Juan José Flores. It has around 300 pupils, from kindergarten till 6th grade, divided over eleven groups with the same number of teachers.
After an interesting talk with the director, they decided to give an exceptional donation, especially for the school. Their aim: provide resources for the teachers enabling them to improve the quality of education in a structural way.
During the whole school year, we coordinated with the director, teachers and the parents' committee, to decide which structural educational materials would be most useful. Besides that, we have set up an audiovisual room and a library.
