Thank You - NOHS Dentists!
07-04-2011 - Organization Funds - NOHS (Netherlands Oral Health Society) is a Dutch foundation with projects in Nepal and the following goals:
*Organizing Dental Camps in Nepal: treat people with acute pain and give dental information.
*Implementing the preventive dental program "Brush At School!" in Nepalese schools: together with Nepalese volunteer organizations make sure that children daily brush their teeth and always wash their hands.
*Give dental basic courses and materials so members of the Nepalese Community Medical Assistants program can independently treat patients.
*Give dental courses to midwives in training.
Our Child 'N Family center in Kathmandu has been admitted to the preventive dental program of NOHS. On 6 April 2011 dentist and team leader Cees Engels came to visit the center together with team members Joke and Eva. We gratefully received the 100 tooth brushes and toothpaste. Furthermore we were given a lot of BAS folders and informative material which the teachers and social worker can use with the children and parents.
With the 60 kids we will start brushing teeth as soon as possible and we will organize a workshop for the families!
