Thank You - Ashley, Austin, Simon & Laurence!

15-12-2009 - Private Initiative - Through a friend of Helma's at the Advent St. Nicholas Church, we met Ashley, Austin, Simon and Laurence. Four British guys who are travelling through South-America and were just looking for volunteer work. The four of them came to Ambato for a few days to paint the homework area and the bedrooms for the children.

A week later, brothers Ashley and Austin came back to finish painting the dining room and kitchen. Furthermore, they put up curtain rails and varnished some wooden doors and window frames on the outside of the main building. They got along very well with our concierges Segundo and José; together they have done a lot of work in a short period of time.
Besides working, Ashley and Austin also enjoyed the Christmas barbeque we organized for the personnel.

Also thanks to the efforts of Ashley, Austin, Simon and Laurence, the buildings are now almost ready to receive the children in our Temporary Institutional Custody. This program starts in January 2010 and hopefully the guys will find the time to visit us again to see our fully operational project.
