Thank You - Joke & eriK!

14-11-2009 - Private Initiative - Joke Martens, sister of our Secretary Ine, passed four weeks in Ecuador with her boyfriend Erik Tilleman. During their holidays they enjoyed the diversity of this beautiful South-American country: they went to the jungle and to the Galapagos. After that, it was time for a trip through the Andes with sister (in law) Ine. And of course they stopped at the Child 'N Family center in Ambato for a few days. They did not just sit around, but got into full Do It Yourself mode. They had to work extra hard: Ine had broken her wrist and could not participate entirely, because her right arm was in a plaster cast.

But Joke and Erik finished everything on time, just as planned: they gave the handicrafts rooms of the center a complete facelift and also donated the materials for it. The stairway is now bright yellow, and the two rooms are blue and green. Ine already made two murals, which now have been colored: a fish and a small chicken in the blue room, cows in the green one.

We would like to thank Joke and Erik for their involvement, creativity and hard work! We are also very happy with the left-over of the paint: there is still enough to redecorate the homework area and some bedrooms! As from January 2010, the children who will be temporarily living with us are definitely going to enjoy all this.
