Thank You - Girls of St. Catherine's!
29-07-2010 - School Contribution - St. Catherine's School in Twickenham, Middlesex, educates approximately 380 girls from ages 3-16, and boys aged 3-7. Aim is to provide an excellent education for students within a caring, supportive and Christian environment. The school has an extensive extra-curricular program: experiences outside the classroom allow the students to experience new relationships, competition and teamwork.
In July 2010 a group of 15 girls of St. Catherine's spent three days based in Ambato, volunteering at the Child 'N Family center. The team really enjoyed the work whether building a new wall, painting windows, or teaching English to the children. Of course, the kids loved the blindfold games with candy and presents, and the photo sessions with their new t-shirts. The team loved the experience with the kids and there was barely a dry eye in the house when they left to go to the jungle.
DCF would like to thank the students of St. Catherine's for their involvement and all the useful supplies they left in the center: the workers' gloves which are now used by our concierges, and the eight huge bags full of second hand clothes, shoes and toys. Our local team and the children were overwhelmed by this fantastic contribution and will always remember the days they spent with the girls and their trip leaders.
