In 2005 we have spent Euro 60.000,-. Of which almost Euro 50.000,- in Ecuador and around Euro 10.000,- in Nepal. The costs were Euro 780,-. We had a negative currency result (including the costs of bank transfers). Costs and currency results have been compensated by the Board in the form of a donation in the year 2006.

The costs of the children’s home in Nepal were approximately Euro 7.800,-. The costs of the financial support program were almost Euro 2.900,-.

In Ecuador we spent more than Euro 13.000,- on the financial support program (Apoyo Familiar, including educational support), more than Euro 12.000,- on medical support and almost Euro 24.000,- on Clarita Luz.

As you can see our expenses in Ecuador are much more than the expenses in Nepal. On one side this has to do with the higher costs in Ecuador due to the dollar. On the other side it also has to do with the size of our projects down there. They are simply larger.

In 2005 our expenses were almost equal to our revenues. Therefore our assets almost did not change. In total we had quite large reserves of Euro 60.000,-. This was done for a reason, as we knew we were going to have large expenses due to the start of Clarita Luz. At this moment our reserves have been halved.

Of course it is important to hold on to some reserves. From a human perspective we have quite some future obligations (our financial support programs to help poor families in Nepal and Ecuador and our children’s homes). Also there are currently plans to renovate the big house in Clarita Luz. Nowadays, when it rains, it does not rain only outside, but also inside. The costs of this project are estimated around USD 80.000,-.
