As you can see in our financial overview, in 2006 we have spent on our projects in total Euro 69.348,-. This means an increase of 16.4% with respect to last year

In Nepal Euro 11.887,- was spent (+11.4%) and in Ecuador Euro 57.461,- (+17.5%). Costs were Euro 1.502,- in total. They doubled with respect to last year. This was mainly caused by investments in training & education for the staff of Clarita Luz. All costs will be compensated by the board of DCF in the form of a donation (in 2007).

The costs of our children’s home project in Nepal were Euro 8.567,-. On the financial support program we spent Euro 3.320,-. In Ecuador Euro 19.159,- was spent on the Family Support Program Quito and Euro 38.303,- on the project Clarita Luz. 

As you can see our expenses in Ecuador are significant higher than our expenses in Nepal. On one side this has to do with the higher costs in Ecuador due to the dollar. On the other side it has to do with the simple fact that our projects in Ecuador are bigger in size. The costs of our project Clarita Luz have increased significantly. This is caused by the fact that the children’s home went operational in October 2006.

In 2006 our income (Euro 96.735,-) was bigger than our expenses (Euro 70.850,-). At the end of last year we received a donation of Euro 36.000,- for the reconstruction of the children’s home in 2007. Corrected for this donation our income has been Euro 60.735,- which means we spent Euro 10.115,- more than we received. Our general reserves decreased from Euro 58.708,- to Euro 49.231,-. The reserve for the reconstruction is Euro 36.000,-. Total budgeted costs of the reconstruction are Euro 46.000,-. Costs to buy furniture Euro 15.000,-.
