Evaluation 2011 CNF Nepal

20-01-2012 -

In Nepal it is still 2068, but we did an evaluation of the activities and finances during the Dutch year 2011.

Nepal follows a different calendar than The Netherlands, but for the reporting of the activities and finances our local project team sticks to the Dutch months and year counting. We have done an evaluation of 2011 and a forecast for 2012:

In April 2011 we closed the Danielle Children’s House (project for disabled youngsters) in order to completely focus on the Child ‘N Family center in Jorpati, Kathmandu.
Thanks to the donation of a Dutch organization, we were able to expand our daycare program. As of the second session, year 2068 (2011-2012), we are receiving 60 children whom we offer pre-primary education, various indoor and outdoor activities, food and (health)care.
In the Family Awareness Program of the center we have been working closely together with the parents of the children; through workshops, parents meetings and house visits.
The personnel team under leadership of Chooda has grown in number (two child caretakers of the closed project joined the team) and in professionalism. The teachers have followed several courses about how to work with educational materials and how to use the concept of “learning through play”.

In the year 2012, we will continue to receive 60 children in the dayare and execute social interventions with the parents. We are planning some courses for our staff on family counseling, health & hygiene and care taker training. We will also present the center in a more professional way to the community, so people and other organizations in the neighborhood know exactly what we are doing. Furthermore, we have received the good news that a sponsor will support us in improving the security of the building and creating more space for the children to play.
