The Story of Ana and Carla

20-10-2009 - Ana and Carla never went to school, but stayed at home to take care of their baby sister. Their father had a job at the coast and stayed away for months at the time. Their mother went out working during the day and left the girls alone at home.
Neighbors reported the situation to the Children’s Council and accused the parents of neglecting their children and withholding education. Our center was asked to accompany this family in structuring their life. During the therapeutic sessions with the father and mother, we focus on upbringing, education, good discipline, responsibility and affection.
Furthermore, our social worker Sandra accompanies the father to find work in Ambato. She also joined the parents to admit the children at a school. The girls visit the center twice a week to make their homework and to get used to discipline and a daily routine.
Of course, this problematic family is not all of a sudden the best model family. But step by step a situation is created where the children live in better circumstances.
