The Story of Asin & Anil
Teenage Mother - Asin and Anil re twins and almost three years old. Their teenage mother came to the Child ‘N Family center because she was desperate. She is 18 years old, so gave birth to her sons at a very young age. The pregnancy was complicated and has put in danger her health and later on also the physical condition of the two boys. She has been trying to make the best out of it, taking care of her two sons on her own. The outcome was that she stopped going to school and wasn’t able to work. This caused a lack of resources and the children ended up sick and malnourished: a vicious circle of poverty.
The young mother came looking for assistance in the Child ‘N Family center because of her critical situation. The social worker and project leader immediately accepted this extreme case. From the moment the two little boys went to the center, their mother could start working in a garment factory. She now earns enough money to rent a decent room and buy some clothes for Asin and Anil. Thanks to the healthy food in the center, the children have already gained some weight and they become stronger every day. Slowly, we can see an improvement in both their personal and home situation.
