The Story of Manbahadur
Manbahadur is the first who stayed for a few years in the DCH in Kathmandu, but now happily left to go and live on his own. After his treatment in the children’s hospital, he was admitted to our center because he still needed a lot of guidance and medical care. Manbahadur suffers from polio, which affected badly the development of both his legs. After a very long treatment in the children’s hospital, he was able to walk with canes. During his stay in our center, Manbahadur finished his secondary school  and gained a lot of confidence; we know him as a boy who is always smiling and even speaks some English!

In 2008, it was time for him to leave and stand on his own feet. In the beginning, we did continue to support him in his education and he is now finishing his higher secondary school. He also found happiness in his personal life, and married Kitri. She is one of the girls who studied in our vocational program and suffers from burn injuries all over the left side of her body. Kitri is working in a tailor shop now and Manbahadur’s dream to work as a staff member for our local foundation came true.

Since September 2009, he is working for FUNDCCIN and also his wife still comes to visit the center; sometimes for advice, but mostly just to catch up among friends. They are a very happy couple and proud and thankful that they have been able to improve their lives and be self-independent.
